Student-Athletes of the Week 10/8-10/12
Sophomore's Evan Ben-Shmuel and Aliya DelCastillo from boys' ad girls' cross country won the Male and Female Athlete of the Week Awards, Friday October 12.
Each week the coaches and athletic staff vote for one male and one female athlete of the week based on athletic performance. Take a look at some of their accomplishments below.
(Cross Country) Evan Ben-Shmuel: He was the top finisher on the boys side with personal best time of 22:30.2 for the season. He also finished just shy of the top five but ran with a lot of heart and finished the race strong.
(Cross Country) Aliya DelCastillo: DelCastillo recorded a personal best time of 26:51 despite having some trouble with her foot before the race. She helped the girls' team to a second place finished and individually finished 7th overall.
