Grade 7 Scientists Analyze Blood Types

Grade 7 students in Nikki Gutierrez's life sciences class learned how blood types are used in forensic sciences through a hands-on lab - using simulated blood kits to solve a mock crime scene. This lab modeled how blood types can be useful in forensic sciences.

Life Science is a lab-based course that delves deeply into investigation, data analysis, inquiry, observation and experimentation. Students learn about cell structure, biochemical makeup, genetics, ecology and evolution, increasing students' awareness of how science influences the world. This course provides the foundation for biology and other life sciences courses in high school.
