Students Empowered to Fight Antisemitism

Natalie Esquenazi ‘23 was chosen from among 700 applicants to serve as one of the nation’s 120 StandWithUs High School Interns this year. She recently invited StandWithUs educator Charlotte Korchak to address the High School about how to tackle misconceptions about Israel, Zionism and Jews with tools and information. Israel advocacy is central to Scheck Hillel’s curriculum and we applaud Natalie for her work.

Natalie applied for the internship because she has always had a passion for defending Israel, and wanted her peers to benefit from the information. She said the speaker, “...provided the background information and the tools to tackle core claims made against Israel’s right to exist, and to challenge those arguments and show how these expressions of anti-Zionism are in fact antisemitism.”

The Israel advocacy curriculum is enhanced by workshops and guest speakers throughout the year. Our students also are actively engaged with national and local organizations whose mission is to defend Israel.
