JV Boys' Basketball Defeat Sagemont at Home
The Scheck Hillel boys' junior varsity basketball team defeated the Sagemont School 45-37, Wednesday, January 9.
The Lions of Sagemont held the home team to a 9-6 advantage after the first quarter but freshman Kenny Zafrani's 10 points in the second quarter help Scheck Hillel take a 26-21 lead going into the half.
The home team Lions outscored their opponent 20-12 in the second but a determined Sagemont took went on a 16-7 run in the third to take a 37-33 lead.
Scheck Hillel held Sagemont scoreless in the fourth quarter which helped them claim an eight point victory.
Zafrani led the team with 18 points while sophomore Jack Brown scored eight. Other scores for the Scheck Hillel include sophomores Orel Hamami (6pts), Jonathan Amitai (5pts), Evan Ben-Shmuel (3pts), Daniel Roffe (3pts) and Avi Lalo (2pts).
The Lions take on Doctors Charter School at Joe Celestin Center, Monday, January 14 at 6PM.
