Varsity Football Showcases Talent During Spring Scrimmage

The Scheck Hillel boys' varsity football team played their spring intrasquad scrimmage, Thursday, May 16.
With a roster of about 19 players, the coaches split the teams into two dubbing one side Team Black and the other Team White.

Team white scored on the first possession taking an early lead over their opponents that would hold up for the rest of the game. The scrimmage gave the coaches an opportunity to see how their returning players are improving while also scouting the new players to see where their strengths are.

Team captains for the scrimmages were sophomores Abrahama Benzadon (Team Black) and Liam Senker (Team White).

Quarterback junior Arie Berti went 5-for-5 and freshman David Anselem stood out with two tackles and a touchdown. Sophomore Yisrael Allouche also scored a touchdown for his team. He added two tackles and an interception to his stats for the day.

Sophomore Daniel Roffe led the team with five carries while junior Allen Bendahan scored a touchdown and grabbed an interception.

The teams had some pretty good defensive stats as juniors Joseph Rimon grabbed a pick six and Gabriel Puterman stripped the quarterback and got a tackle.

The team begins their preseason training in earlier August to prepare for the 2019 season.
