Mayor of Aventura Meets with Scheck Hillel Seniors

Big thank you to City of Aventura Mayor Enid Weisman for enlightening our Capstone Seminar this morning! Our seniors learned how her ongoing support of and investment in Israel have been central to her leadership, the change she has effected as Mayor, her career in education and service, and how her Jewish identity has shaped every step along the way. She reinforced the importance of listening, especially when our seniors will be in new settings on college campuses with new people from around the world. Rabbi Uri Pilichowski's Judaic Studies Capstone Seminar requires students to connect with and welcome public officials to class to share their insights and personal experiences. Today we thank Gabriela B. and Jayme P., both '19, for bringing Mayor Weisman to Scheck Hillel Community School.
