Scheck Hillel Alumni Give Voice to National News

Jonathan Allen, '15, led a rally to voice student outrage over the school's decision to reinstate their football program in the wake of a player's death. The protest, and Jonathan's role, made CNN's front page. We salute Jonathan's resolve to exercise moral leadership. Read coverage here.
 
In the wake of the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre, Elan Kainen, '14, took to the media to read accounts of the tragedy at Tree of Life. In a thoughtful piece he wrote for his college website, Elan reflected on the myriad reactions he observed and on his own views about how to engage in dialogue in the aftermath of tragedy.
 
"How should individuals acknowledge the likelihood that such an event would even happen in the first place? One need look no further than their Facebook newsfeed to view the slew of user commentaries and article links posing a response to this question."
