“…the letter “E”, represents the evolution of my identity through my dedication, loyalty, open-mindedness, and interest in health. I have learned over the years to increase my dedication to school, and put my all into doing my best. With maturity, came the realization that loyalty was an important character trait to possess. My loyalty spreads to many different facets of my life from volunteering at the kosher food bank, to my allegiance to the dance department for ten years.”

"On the inside of the mask, you will find a black club and red heart. These are the remaining suits of cards. The club represents luck. The heart is there to represent dedication, as one would put their heart and soul into a project. The reason the heart and club were chosen for the inside of the mask was to connect the outside to the inside. The connection is made through a love of games, where people get to know what Max hides on the inside."

“The top of my mask illustrates my roots: a big, close-knit family, an American flag, and the Sunshine State. The owl on the bottom right represents my favorite exotic animal, as well as my spirit animal. The owl, as a spirit animal, represents finding wisdom through silence."
-Shelby Scheck
“Around the entire mask, I drew Jewish stars to demonstrate how Judaism plays a role in how others perceive me. On the top of the mask, I drew a small American flag inside a big Argentinian flag to demonstrate how I want others to see my American side but to never forget that at my core I am and always will be Argentinian.”
