We are the World

Grade 3 celebrated the students’ heritage with a Coming to America Celebration. They researched the 21 countries from where their families originated, presented a musical performance and displayed projects to honor their families’ countries of origin and dreams of coming to America.

Through this project-based learning experience, the students gained knowledge and skills in research, collaboration and presentation by working together over an extended period of time. Each country group had children from the four classes working together to research and produce presentations.

“They not only learned about the facts from the different countries, but they also realized that it is our differences that make our country so wonderful,” said Ann Sweet, Grade 3 teacher.
