Courage, Resilience and Bravery

Upper School students had the privilege of welcoming Fred Mulbauer: a Holocaust survivor and Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach volunteer. Mr. Mulbauer shared his experience of being captured by the Nazis just after his Bar Mitzvah and then losing his family. Students were visibly moved by his story: how a young boy kept his resilience in a cruel world. Mr. Mulbauer is blessed with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; our students are now part of the circle he's inspired.

This program was organized by Modern Jewish History faculty Dr. Hana Barouk and Rabbi Yaakov Boyd, thanks to the tremendous help of Natalie Wolf, a Scheck Hillel Community School parent and volunteer.
