Celebrating Israel's Independence

A schoolwide assembly of ruach kicked off Scheck Hillel’s Yom HaAtzmaut celebrations uniting the school in prayer, song and dance, all symbolizing our gratitude and love for Medinat Israel, chai to chai.

Scheck Hillel was honored to host Israel Consul General in Miami and Scheck Hillel parent, Maor Elbaz-Starinsky, who shared greetings on behalf of the State of Israel. We also welcomed IDF Staff Sergeant Ohad Karavani, who led us in prayer and learning, bringing Israel education to the classroom. Ask your students to share some of the facts they learned! Grades 4, 5 and Upper School enjoyed a mini-carnival featuring bootcamp stations, and all enjoyed a delicious Israeli lunch.

Preparations began weeks ago and spanned many subjects and grade-levels, complemented by the ruach of a rich Student Life experience. Thank you to our extraordinary Hebrew Language, Judaic Studies and Student Life faculty for inspiring our enduring love of Israel.
