Varsity Girls' Soccer Players Receive Honorable Mentions

The Scheck Hillel girls' soccer team had three player receive Honorable Mentions from the Miami Herald, Thursday, April 18.
The recognition came as a resullt of their skills and performances on the field during the 2018-19 season in comparison to all the girl soccer players in their county.

Captains, senior Noa Lalo and junior Alexandra Gelman, along with sophomore Tali Finger were named alongside some of the best players in Miami-Dade county.

In her final year on the team, Lalo earned her captains spot by staying consistent on the field and being a tough defender. She also scored a goal for the team in the preseason tournament and helped her team protect the net.

Gelman was one of the top scorers for the Lions. She had a big game against Divine Savior early on in the season where she scored two goals to tie the game after being down 0-2, one of which nearly 30-yards.

Finger was the leading scorer for Hillel. She scored her first hat trick of the season in game one against Hebrew Academy.  She scored all three of her goals simultaneously and played a tough overall game in the championship against Katz Yeshiva.

All three of these girls earned Player of the Week honors during the season and deserve every bit of recognition they received.
