Varsity Boy's Basketball Seniors Receive Honorable Mention

Three seniors from the Scheck Hillel Community School's varsity boys' basketball team earned Honorable Mentions from the Miami Herald, Thursday, April 18.
The seniors Aaron Ben-ShmuelYaniv Assraf and Andres Bacal have all played basketball for Hillel for many years. The trio have done amazing things on the court both alone and as a unit.

Ben-Shmuel as a captain has continued to be a leader on the court not only by his position but in scoring as well. He has been consistent with putting up high numbers on the board and dishing out assists.

Assraf has stepped up tremendously on the court this year offensively. This season he has played some of the best basketball of his high school career and continued to lead the team defensively collecting well over 20 steals.

Bacal was a solid all-around player consistently grabbing rebounds and putting points on the board. In their final game of the season against Miami Country Day School in the District Semifinals each player did their part to keep the game close.

Ben-Shmuel finished with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, while classmates Assraf added 13 points and seven rebounds and Bacal added six points and five rebounds.

This recognition was a great way to honor these boys at the end of their high school careers.
