Boys' Tennis Finish Strong At District Championships

The Scheck Hillel girls' tennis team showed athleticism and sportsmanship during the District Championships, Monday, April 15 and Tuesday April 16.  
Day one of the tournament ended with two players advancing to the championship games. Junior Gad Lisker (No. 4) and freshman Norman Cohen (No. 5) both earned spots to compete against players from Miami Country Day School on Day two. 

In the first round junior Myles Gilbert (No. 1) defeated his opponent from Hebrew Academy 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the semifinals against Miami Country Day. Junior Michael Berenstein (No. 2) also advanced to the semifinal after defeating a Chaminade-Madonna player 6-0,6-0. 

In the final day of competition Lisker and Cohen came up short in the singles finals. Gilbert and Berenstein defeated Divine Savior in No. 1 Doubles to advance to the finals where they lost to Miami Country Day School. Cohen and junior Yair Lisker also defeated Divine Savior in No. 2 Doubles and lost to the Spartans in the finals.
