A Legacy in the Arts

The Jordan Alexander Ressler
Performing Arts Endowment

Established in Memory of
Jordan Alexander Ressler z”l

The Jordan Alexander Ressler Performing Arts Endowment was established in 2007 by Jordan’s grandmother, Judith Lindenfeld z”l, in loving memory of Jordan Alexander Ressler z”l.
Created as a permanent fund, the endowment provides ongoing support for Scheck Hillel’s theatre, orchestra and band programs. Each year, the fund helps sustain and enhance the performing arts while preserving Jordan’s legacy for generations to come.
Jordan’s great passion was theatre, and the endowment ensures that his love of the arts continues to have a meaningful impact on our students and community at Scheck Hillel.

Our Performing Arts Mission and Vision

The Jordan Alexander Ressler Performing Arts Program welcomes students with varied interests, experience levels, and aspirations into meaningful artistic experiences that encourage growth, belonging, excellence, joy, and contribution to our Jewish school community. We envision a school where the performing arts are visible, valued, and celebrated, every interested student can participate and pursue their artistic aspirations, and the breadth and quality of our program make Scheck Hillel a model for performing arts education in the Jewish day school world.

What the Endowment Makes Possible

The Jordan Alexander Ressler Endowment helps advance this vision through expanded opportunities, exposure to professional artists, performances, and enriching experiences. Its permanent nature provides an enduring foundation for this work, supporting students today and for generations to come.

Each year, a portion of the fund’s earnings supports a range of initiatives, including:
  • Theatre productions and concerts
  • Guest artists, composers and directors
  • Student awards
  • State-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment
  • Improvements to performing arts facilities
  • Additional program enhancements and student experiences
By providing resources beyond what the school budget, ticket sales and participation fees can support, the endowment allows Scheck Hillel’s performing arts programs to grow, innovate and offer students exceptional opportunities that might not otherwise be possible.

We are deeply grateful to Jordan’s family for establishing and continuing to support this extraordinary legacy in his memory.

The Jordan Alexander Ressler Performing Arts Program

From their first performances in Lower School to more advanced productions and ensembles in Upper School, students have opportunities to explore theatre, orchestra and band throughout their Scheck Hillel journey.
Through rehearsals, performances and collaboration with fellow students, they develop their artistic abilities, build confidence and experience the creativity, discipline and teamwork that come with the performing arts.
The program also creates opportunities to learn from professional artists, composers and directors, enriching students' experiences and connecting them with the broader world of the arts.

The Jordan Alexander Ressler Performing Arts Awards

Launched in Spring 2026, the Jordan Alexander Ressler Performing Arts Awards recognize graduating seniors in theatre, orchestra and band whose dedication to the performing arts during their time at Scheck Hillel reflects Jordan’s spirit. Each award includes a $5,000 financial component celebrating students’ exceptional accomplishments while supporting them as they take their next steps into college and beyond.

Establish an Endowment at Scheck Hillel

Honor a Legacy. Support Future Generations.

The Jordan Alexander Ressler Performing Arts Endowment is a meaningful example of how philanthropy can create a lasting impact.
Scheck Hillel welcomes opportunities to establish additional endowments supporting other areas of school life, allowing families and donors to invest in the programs and experiences most meaningful to them.
Rooted in the Jewish values of tzedakah and l’dor v’dor, giving from generation to generation, an endowment offers a meaningful way to honor your family or remember a loved one while ensuring that their legacy continues to enrich the lives of future generations of Scheck Hillel students.
