Cristina Florez serves Scheck Hillel in several roles. She is charged with developing the Experiential Learning and Internship Program, a vehicle for Upper School students to obtain real-world experience while still in high school. She also coordinates the Grade 10 Project, and serves as advisor for National Honor Society and the Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards.
Cristina is a polyglot with extensive international experience, having traveled all over Europe, the Americas, and the U.S., and lived in countries such as France and Spain. As a result, she encourages Scheck Hillel students to remember that they must keep an open mind and be willing to learn about other people and cultures and to respect people from all walks of life. Cristina believes that, “…listening is the most crucial skill to have and practice in any career. And having an open mind is a close second to that. Take both of these, and wonderful changes could come to the world.” This Miami native enjoys computers, fishing, hiking, swimming, geocaching, dance, theater, cinema and photography.
