Girls' Varsity Basketball Defeats Hebrew Academy at Home
The Scheck Hillel girls' varsity basketball team defeated Hebrew Academy 30-29, Tuesday, December 11.
The first half of the game the Spartans dominated the court leading the Lions 17-13 going into the half.
Scheck Hillel outscored Hebrew Academy 8-6 in the third quarter to spark a new attitude from the Lions.
Junior Orli Algranatti lead the team with 12 points. Senior Maya Feuer added eight points and classmate Gabriella Bentolila contributed three.
The Lions were down 28-29 with .5 seconds left on the clock and Hebrew Academy had possession of the ball. Sophomore Jenna Lieberman batted away an inbounded ball from the offense into the hands of Algranatti who scored the game winning shot.
The team travels to Somerset Central Thursday, December 13 for their next game.
