Lions Take Second in Jewish Soccer Classic
The Scheck Hillel varsity girls soccer team fell short to Katz Yeshiva High School in a 1-5 loss in the finals of the Jewish Soccer Classic, Wednesday, November 7.
Within the first few moments of the game the Storm put points on the board off a goal that none of the Lions saw coming. That goal set the tone for the first half of the match as Yeshiva scored four unanswered points.
Eighth-grader Sofia Wengrowsky scored the lone goal of the game for Hillel with an assist from Sophomore Tali Finger.
Earlier in the day the David Posnack Rams defeated the Warriors from Hebrew Academy 8-0 to take third place.
Scheck Hillel takes on the Donna Klein School to start the regular season Tuesday, November 13 at 4:30PM.
