College Board Grants 53 AP Scholar Awards to Scheck Hillel Students

North Miami Beach - Fifty-three (53) 2018 AP Scholar Awards were granted to Scheck Hillel Community School students in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams.
 
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP) provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.
 
The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams.
 
Three (3) Scheck Hillel Class of 2018 graduates qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. These students are Keith Bonwitt (University of Pennsylvania, Bar-Ilan University), valedictorian Nathalie Fuhrman (Northwestern University) and salutatorian Simi Serfati (University of Pennsylvania).
 
Sixteen (16) Scheck Hillel students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are Esther Benasayag (Class of 2019), Joseph Bensabat (Class of 2019), Gabriela Bentolila (Class of 2019), Keith Bonwitt (University of Pennsylvania, Bar-Ilan University), Alexa Cohen (Class of 2019), Raquel Dimitri (Class of 2019), Nathalie Fuhrman (Northwestern University), Benjamin Givner (University of Michigan, Bar-Ilan University), Roy Glazer (University of Maryland, Tel Aviv University), Vanessa Gonik (University of Michigan, Tel Aviv University), Ariel Grobman (Class of 2019), Matias Lancewicki (Class of 2019), Max Peicher (Tufts University), Jayme Podgorowiez (Class of 2019), Simi Serfati (University of Pennsylvania) and Albert Wolak (Class of 2019).
 
Six (6) students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students include Jonathan Abbo (Class of 2019), Shelly Albergel (Class of 2019), Vivianne Assor (University of Michigan), Gabriela Gelman (Washington University in St. Louis), Joel Herman (Class of 2019) and Raphael Motola (University of Michigan).    
 
Twenty-eight (28) students qualified for AP Scholar Awards by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are: Moises Bensadon (Class of 2019), Monique Bentata (Northeastern University, Shnat Hajshara), Jaime Bursztyn (Class of 2020), Danielle Esquenazi (Class of 2020), Alexandra Fincheltub (Brandeis University), Hannah Fiske (University of Texas at Austin), Alexandra Gelman (Class of 2020), Myles Gilbert (Class of 2020), Leah Grobman (Class of 2020), Emily Kriger (Class of 2019), Gabrielle Kurzer  (Class of 2020), Jonathan Lanes (North Carolina State University), Nathaniel Melnitsky (University of Maryland, Aish Gesher Yeshiva), Rotem Miara (Class of 2020), Rochelle Milhem (Class of 2019), David Nagli (Class of 2019), Emily Rodman (Class of 2019), Maya Rodrig (Class of 2020), Amanda Scheck (Class of 2019), Shelby Scheck (University of Maryland, Young Judaea Year Course), Lily Schmutter (University of Miami), Yael Sefchovich (Class of 2020), Galia Shapiro (New York University), David Szkolnik (Class of 2019), Alex Wagenberg (Class of 2020), Stephanie Weisinger (Class of 2020), Danit Weitzman (Class of 2020) and Abraham Woldenberg (Class of 2019).
 
Scheck Hillel offers 18 AP courses, providing students the opportunity to earn college credit or Advanced Placement and stand out in the college admission process. Each exam is developed by a committee of college and university faculty and AP teachers, ensuring they are aligned with the same high standards expected by college faculty at some of the nation’s leading universities.
