Girls' Varsity Basketball Defeat Riviera Prep
The Scheck Hillel girls' varsity basketball team defeatedd Riviera Prepratory School 37-35 for its first win of the season, Wednesday, November 29th.
The Lions started off strong outscoring the Bulldogs 13-5. Sophomore Maya Feuer scored a game-high 17 points in the win, including nine in the first quarter.
Hillel outscored Riviera Prep 9-5 in the second quarter to increase their lead. The third quarter showed a sparked from the Bulldogs who scored 15 points, outscoring the Lions by nine.
The fourth quarter got the crowd on their feets as the Bulldogs fought to take control of the ball game. The final minute of the game was a nail-biter for the Lions who in the final seconds were able to hold on to their lead for the win.
Sophomore Yedida Bentolila also scored in double-digits for the Lions finishing with 13 points.
Scheck Hillel takes on Northwest Christian Monday, December 4th at 5:00 p.m.
