Varsity Boys Soccer Win Jewish Soccer Championship

In the 3rd Annual Jewish Soccer Classic, the Scheck Hillel boys varsity soccer team defeated Katz Yeshiva High School 4-0, Tuesday, November 7th.
The Lions and the Storm made it to the championship game of the tournament after defeating YULA Boys High School and David Posnack Jewish Day School respectively the day before.

Senior captain Ilan Lapco scored the first and lone goal for the Lions in the first half of the game. Both teams played great defense to keep scoring to a minimum in the first 40 minutes.

After half time the teams stepped up their offensive games, taking more shots on goal and making note worthy passes. The Lions began to pull away from the Storm offensively after a goal from senior Jonathan Zinguer.

Freshman Jeremy Nicohls added another goal for Hillel increasing the score to 3-0. With less than 20 seconds to go in regulation junior David Sternberg put one in the net for the Lions for the fourth and final goal of the game.
