Scheck Hillel Varsity Boys Soccer Victorious in Game One

The Scheck Hillel varsity soccer team defeated YULA boys High School, 8-0, in the 3rd Annual Jewish Soccer Classic, Monday, November 6th.
In game one of the tournament, the Lions scored within the first five minutes of the game off a goal from sophomore Allen Bendahan. He also added an assist to senior captain Ilan Lapco who scored the second goal for Hillel. 

Sophomore David Birnbaum increased the Lions' lead to 3-0 before the half. A few minutes into the second half of the game, junior David Sternberg scored another Hillel goal to give the Lions a 4-0 lead over the Panthers. 

Birnbaum and Bendahan each scored another goal for the Lions later in the second half of the match. 

Senior Michael Romano scored the eighth and final goal of the game for Hillel. 


Game 2
In game two of the tournament, David Posnack Jewish Day School took on Katz Yeshiva High School to determine who would face Hillel in the championship.

Yeshiva's Yitzy Lanner scored the first goal of the game to give the Storm a 1-0 advantage. The Storm would score again for a 2-0 lead over Posnack before a goal from Ariel Zohar made the score 2-1. Litzy would score within the last two minutes of the game to give Yeshiva the 3-1 win over Posnack.

Scheck Hillel will meet Katz Yeshiva in the championship game, Tuesday, November 7th at 7:00 p.m.
