Cross Country Teams Victorious at First Meet of the Season

After many cancellations due to the weather, the Scheck Hillel co-ed cross country teams hosted their first meet of the season, Tuesday, October 3rd.
The meet took place at Johnson State Park and due to the beach erosion on the trail the route ended up being 2.85m instead of the standard 3.12m.

The meet began a little after 4pm with the girls' team who had four runners place in the top the out of 36 runners. The girls finished first overall as a team with 36-points. Posnack was second with 43 points followed by Yeshiva with 52. 

Junior Dara Delcastillo was the top finisher of the meet followed by her teammate freshman Aliya DelCastillo. 

Freshman Danna Fischbach finished in eighth place while freshman Sofia Nessim closed out the top ten.

On the boys' side with a pool of 35 runners, the Lions came in first as a team with 43 points followed by Yeshiva (53 point) then Posnack (55 points) and Hebrew Academy (67 points).

The top runner for the boys was junior Aaron Ben-Shmuel who finished in fifth place. Sophomore Victor Kameo (sixth), junior Jonathan Abbo (seventh) and sophomore Josh Schmutter (tenth) all finished in the top ten.
