Scheck Hillel Students Named Silver Knight Award Nominees

Mazal tov to Scheck Hillel Community School’s 2017 Silver Knight Award nominees! 

The Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards is one of the nation’s most highly regarded student awards programs. The purpose is to recognize outstanding students who have not only maintained good grades but have also unselfishly applied their special knowledge and talents to contribute significant service to their schools and communities.

For more than 50 years, The Miami Herald has presented the Silver Knight Awards to some of South Florida’s highest-achieving teenagers for their unparalleled commitment to academics and community service. We are so proud of this year’s circle of talented leaders.

Winners will be announced May 17, 2017, at the James L. Knight Center.  Awards include certificates, medallions, and plaques, as well as $2,000 and $500 cash prizes provided by American Airlines and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. 

“You’re here because of your compassion. Your leadership. Your creativity. Your determination,” said Knight Foundation Miami Director Matt Haggman at the 2016 award ceremony. “These are qualities that will stay with you your whole lives. They are also the qualities that will allow you to transform your world.”
