*The students' winning submission is ShopRite, "...a shopping cart enhancement designed to help vendors and consumers prevent loss of product and money. Many cashiers neglect the bottom shelf of a shopping cart and forget to ring up pricey items. Many shoppers also forget to load bottom-shelf cart items into their vehicle after shopping. ShopRight solves both of these problems by lighting a red LED near the handlebar of the cart whenever a product is detected on the bottom shelf. This LED would be easy to see for both the cashier and shopper. The LED would turn off when the products are removed from the cart and loaded into the car. This simple innovation attaches to an existing cart via velcro and offers an easy and affordable solution for any commercial retailer."
