Biology Honors: Documenting Human Impact

Biology Honors students in Dr. Maria Cartolano’s class took their research to social media to create awareness about the impact of human behaviors on the environment. After weeks of study on ecology, each student selected and researched an anthropogenic effect, designed presentations, and posted their findings to a class social media feed via padlet. 

 

Some of the effects included overpopulation, plastic pollution, oil spills, hunting, agriculture and overfishing. Students reflected on some of the impacts and reflected on ways they can begin to behave more responsibly with the world around them.
