On Board With Summer Reading
Congratulations to the Scheck Hillel Grade 2-5 students who were recognized for their summer reading achievements! These Lions read a total of 236 books as part of "On Board With Summer Reading," an Accelerated Reader contest led by Nancy Penchev, I LAB Instructor and Lower School Technology Coordinator. The students read across genres and were able to focus on their interests and passions, an important motivator in reading. Sasha Ades (Grade 2), who logged 58 books and was the top reader in the group, read all she could about puppies. This contest is one of the many reading-rich activities linking to the Scheck Hillel reading/language arts curriculum, inspiring students to develop an independent love of reading.
