Info Central: Yedida Bentolila '20 Promotes Israel in Government Press Office
"Last school year, I was part of the Scheck Hillel delegation that attended the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC. Our teacher, Rabbi Uri Pilichowski, introduced us to representatives from the Government Press Office, including its director, Nitzan Chen. I learned that a summer internship position was open for someone who could help with Spanish-language press, and I asked to be considered."
A typical day at the press office started with a survey: an instrument used to collect information from different press outlets. I was responsible for scanning Spain-based media companies for news about Israel, and reporting it back on the survey. I also kept track of innovation stories and wrote copy for the website. Lastly, I had the opportunity to participate in official press tours, including one to a newly-remodeled border crossing at Qalandia."
