Core Values Guide Scheck Hillel High School Israel Trip

Scheck Hillel Community School grade 9 students incorporated their school’s core values throughout their trip to Israel in May-June. One specific example fed hungry families. During their visit, the group of more than 60 students volunteered with the non-profit organization Pantry Packers to make boxes of food essentialsthat will be delivered to hungry families.

Pantry Packers expressed thanks to the Scheck Hillel students. “We thank you for taking time out of your schedule to share in our mitzvah, and enjoyed our time together,” wrote Rabbi Menachem Traxler. “Your group, not only had fun while doing this important chesed (kindness) work, but provided food for families in need.”

“Our Scheck Hillel mission is to educate and inspire students to become exemplary global citizens with enduring Jewish identity and values, and this great mitzvah is the perfect representation of it,” said Vanessa Donaher, Head of Scheck Hillel Community School. “We are very proud of our students, guided by values like kindness here at home and afar.”
