Scheck Hillel Middle School Students Earn 2019 Academic Achievement Awards

Scheck Hillel Community School presented its inaugural set of Academic Achievement Awards to its Samuel and Henrietta Scheck Middle School students on May 30, 2019. In a ceremony with peers, more than 150 students were honored with certificates of excellence in the areas of achievement, growth and chessed/community service.
 
At Scheck Hillel, students reach new academic heights - on their way to college and beyond - while building a strong Jewish identity, as reflected in these awards. These students uphold core values taught by their families and school and have achieved at the highest level. Kol hakavod and mazal tov!

Achievement
These students scored in the 90th percentile or above all students, nationwide, in math and/or reading/language this year.

Growth
These students scored in the 90th percentile or above all students, nationwide for growth, in math and/or reading/language this year.

Chessed (Kindness)
These students served double the number of community service hours that are required in each grade level this year: Grade 6: 24+ hours, Grade 7: 32+ hours Grade 8: 40+ hours.
