Arts at Scheck Hillel__

Bravo!

April 4 marked the Jordan Alexander Ressler Arts Program’s inaugural Ben Lipson Upper School Performing Arts Awards, honoring student achievement in music and theatre during the course of this school year. Performing Arts team members Anthony Campisi, Angelica Losada, and Matt Villa distributed ensemble pins to band, orchestra and theatre students, after which faculty Dionne Lockett and Stuart Rosenthal inducted new members to the Tri-M music and ITS theatre honor societies. Nineteen students were honored with major awards, including the National Orchestra Award (Gabriela Bentolila), the John Philip Sousa Band Award (Jayme Podgorowiez) and the Theatre Legacy Award (Rotem Miara). Program Director Stuart Rosenthal also presented the inaugural Judith Lindenfeld, z"l, Award to Scheck Hillel alumna and parent Mrs. Sheryl Podgorowiez for her ongoing support of the arts program.
