Varsity Boys' Basketball Continue Win Streak After Winter Break
The Scheck Hillel boys' varsity basketball team defeated Hebrew Academy 42-40, Monday, January 7.
This is the third time the teams have played each other this season and each time Scheck Hillel has come away with a two-point win.
Senior Aaron Ben-Shmuel led the pack with 15 points and five steals. Offensively the team had a couple of players put up key points for the Lions. Juniors Samuel Taieb and Alan Berkman each finished with eight points. Both players made vital plays on both sides of the ball to keep the Warriors from scoring. Berkman finished with five steals while Taieb grabbed 10 boards.
Other key players for the Lions include freshman Daniel Abbo who contributed seven points and junior Saul Birmaher who added four.
The teams overall record improves to 13-3.
The Lions return to action Wednesday, January 9 at home against Sagemont. Tipoff is at 7:30PM.
