Lion Fans Travel to Palmer Trinity For Regional Championships

The Scheck Hillel boys' varsity soccer team finished its season tonight with a 2-3 loss to Palmer Trinity in the Regional Championships, Wednesday, February 13.
Playing in front over a crowd of over 200 Lion fans, Scheck Hillelbattled through a tough 2-0 disadvantage in the first half. Through harsh winds and rain showers, the team held their composure and came back in the second half with a new sense of urgency.

A shot from sophomore Leon Sion was tipped towards the left side of the net when senior David Sternberg was able to get a foot on it and kick it into the goals.

Showing points on the board, the Lions came alive and Sion was able to put one in the back of the net as well tying the game at 2-2 and forcing two 10-minute overtimes.

The first overtime went scoreless and both teams made great defensive plays. With less than five minutes in the second overtime Palmer Trinity scored the final goal of the game.

The cheers from our Scheck Hillel fans helped keep the team's spirits high and their heads in the game. After the loss the cheers from the crowd didn't end as the boys received a standing ovation. What a great way to show our #LionPride

Scheck Hillel finished the season with 12 wins, 5 losses and 2 ties.
