Varsity Boys' Soccer Headed to Regional Semifinals
After an exciting and intense battle the Scheck Hillel boys' varsity soccer team defeated Westminster Academy 3-2 in the Regional Quarterfinals, Wednesday, February 6.
Senior David Sternberg scored the team's only goal in regulation which ended in a 1-1 tie. After two overtimes the teams had to rely on penalty kicks to win the game.
Westminster Academy was able to get one in past the Lions' goalie but two penalty kicks from Senior Ariel Grobman and junior Arie Berti gave Scheck Hillel the advantage and sealed the win.
The Lions will now have the rematch they have been waiting for against Miami Country Day School after losing to the Spartans in the District Finals.
The two teams will face off Saturday night, February 9 at Miami Country Day School. Game time is at 8PM and admission is $7 for everyone school age and above.
