Admissions Process

Our Admissions Office is hosting family tours and are here and happy to help you! We encourage you to peruse these web pages, follow us on social media and get to know Scheck Hillel Community School!

  • Step One

    Call or email our Admissions Office to make an appointment and tour Scheck Hillel Community School.
  • Step Two

    Please complete and submit the online application along with a $250 non-refundable application fee. The system will redirect you to our wait pool form for grade levels that are at capacity. 

    The deadline for our first round of admissions acceptance is January 26, 2024. After this date, applications will be reviewed and candidates will be accepted on a rolling basis, space permitting.
  • Step Three

    Once the application has been submitted, we ask that you use our portal to view the necessary documents and requirements that must be submitted and completed as part of our application process. 

    Please upload all items to our portal as our process is completely paperless and user friendly!

    The following items are required for candidate review:
    1.  A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport.
    2.  Applicant’s current and previous report cards as well as score
      reports for standardized tests. 
    3. Recommendations from the applicant’s teachers and principal/guidance counselor. These will be sent to the recommenders directly through our portal. 
    4. A completed Parent Questionnaire to better understand the applicant’s needs. 
    5. If entering Grades 6-12 the applicant must fill out our Student Questionnaire so that we can learn all about them. 
    6. Parents must complete and sign the Permission for Release of Student Records form. 
    7. An updated and original Immunization Form (Blue HRS form #DH680) and an original Student Health Form (Yellow HRS form #3040) from a Florida pediatrician. Out-of-state forms, foreign forms, and religious exemptions are not acceptable. 
  • Step Four

    Upon receipt of the documents in Step 3, our team will reach out to families of applicants entering PK3-Grade 11 to schedule a grade-appropriate evaluation/screening and a new family interview with our Rabbinic Director(s). Screenings and evaluations as well as upper school interviews with the division’s director and team must be done in person on our campus.
  • Step Five

    Grade 6-11 applicants must complete a standardized exam as part of Scheck Hillel's admission process.

    Grade 6-8 applicants may be exempt from this exam should their current school provide a MAP test score.
