Scheck Hillel’s Grades 6-12 comprise our Ben Lipson Upper School. Within it, our Samuel and Henrietta Scheck Middle School provides Grades 6-8 with an active, engaging environment in which students are encouraged and challenged to think independently to become lifelong learners, inspired by a love of learning, for the sake of learning. Scheck Hillel prioritizes critical, independent, creative thought and expression in the classroom and has high expectations for students. Upper School implements the International Baccalaureate® Middle Years Programme in Grades 6-10. The Middle Years Programme is an international education designed to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills necessary to participate actively and responsibly…locally and globally.
The breadth of available Upper School courses is extensive and provides students with a well-rounded secondary curriculum to prepare for college and global experiences beyond school…reflecting our Scheck Hillel mission and core values. Upper School also fosters intellectual and social growth in areas outside the classroom, especially in athletics, arts and clubs, where students find opportunities to develop the skills necessary for an ever-evolving world. This map helps you frame discussions with your family and school counselors about selecting courses that will prepare and excite you through rigorous challenge and meaningful learning you as you progress toward graduation. We stand ready to work with you in this very important planning process. Scheck Hillel’s faculty and college counselors always have their doors open, ready to chat and explore with you.
