Scheck Hillel’s Juda and Maria Diener Lower School instills in students a love of learning, a curiosity about their world, a sense of respect and responsibility toward others and an understanding and appreciation of Torah values.
In Early Childhood, Scheck Hillel recognizes and supports the importance of play as the most effective vehicle through which children learn and grow intellectually. The school recognizes students’ individual learning styles and social and emotional patterns of behavior. In Kindergarten-Grade 5, programs incorporate differentiated instruction to help each student meet maximum potential. Curriculum balances English with the study of Hebrew language and General Studies with Judaic Studies and religious practice to create a learning environment that motivates and inspires all students. Paired with enrichment like arts, athletics and academics beyond the classroom, students develop the skills necessary to build a foundation of enduring Jewish identity and sense of global citizenship.
