Chessed in Our Hands and Hearts

The core value of chessed (kindness) is woven into the fabric of the Scheck Hillel curriculum, chai to chai. Our students develop awareness and empathy through hands-on activities that ignite a passion for helping.

Examples of acts of loving kindness from this week:

Members of the Middle School Chessed Club partner with the MAR-JCC's boxing program for persons with Parkinson's. A remarkable thing has happened: our students and participants look forward to being there for one another! Kol hakavod to club members and to Chessed Coordinator Sari Mizrahi for nurturing these special relationships.

Karen Prince, Raquel Delman and Chava Zack de Waisser's PK4 class collects tzedakah every week, and recently visited our Development office to make a gift to the Annual Lion Fund. The students declared their desire for their donation to go to children in need - an age-appropriate connection to the value of chessed.
