Journey to Start-Up Nation

Scheck Hillel students Jaime Esquenazi (Grade 10), Tali Finger (Grade 10) and Denise Yudovich (Grade 10) are in Israel experiencing "Journey to the Start-Up Nation," an annual program sponsored by the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE). Jaime, Tali and Denise are students in Scheck Hillel's four-year Design/STEM program and are accompanied by Design/STEM teacher Michelle Murray and by Rabbi Avi Greene, Director of Upper School Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language. While in Israel, CIJE teachers and students meet with educators, entrepreneurs, major companies and successful start-ups; they participate in workshops and hands-on activities at the Technion and Weizmann Institutes. This program is an example of the special college preparatory opportunities available to students at Scheck Hillel: a chance to immerse themselves today in the future of business and industry in Israel, a proud world leader in technology.

Scheck Hillel offers a 4-year high school Design/STEM program of hands-on laboratory courses designed to mimic innovative work environments in the real world. Inquisitive learners who are tenacious creative problem-solvers may apply to the program for Grade 9.
